Instagram

Let me be the millionth person to say, I am OBSESSED with Instagram!  O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D!  I've died and went to photography heaven.  Lucky for me, my cell phone has an amazingly huge screen and great camera so I usually prefer to use my cell phone camera over my big fancy one half the time.
I've come across some really AMAZING photographers on IG.  Definitely check out some of the people I follow.  People from across the country, and some overseas.  Some of the prettiest places are lucky enough to have some real talented people.
I know fellow ig lovers in nyc meet up every so often to go on photo walks and then out for drinks afterwards.  One day I will jump on the train and do that....sounds super fun, kind of weird, but (in the words of my daughter) YOLO.

My screen name is beckyb2201 http://instagram.com/beckyb2201  I usually stick to my cell phone camera for ig pics, I use a Samsung GalaxyS2.  I occasionally will upload a pic I really like that I took from my Canon Rebel XS...yes, one the one they don't make anymore, I think it's about time to upgrade.  Very rarely I use my point and shoot, it's a Sony, not sure on the model off hand.

What is 40

Can I just tell you......I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!    From the previews, I love everything about it already (of course it'll probably blow because I'm THIS excited).
In Knocked Up, I loved this couple the most.  I wished they would have showed more of them throughout that movie.  DOORMAN!!!  LOL haha.
I just love Leslie Mann....girlfriend is banging.  100% dream girl for sure.  Funny, pretty face, great hair, nice fit body, and she looks absolutely stunning for her age.  Maybe she's my girl crush this week.  Paul Rudd has been one of my favorite actors since I seen him in Clueless.  He's good looking and super funny....maybe he's my boy crush.  I love pretty much every single movie that he's been in, every character he has played.  And of course, he was raised in Overland Park, KS.  Hello Oak Park boy.

Here's a couple trailers for the movie if you haven't seen or heard about this.....

Dynamite Shrimp!

Well, not really......but close enough!  One of our favorite apps from Applebees was Dynamite Shrimp.  Then they had to go take it off of the menu!!!!!!  How dare they!  Anyways, here's my newest way of coming up with a sauce that's close enough to theirs.

1 cup of sour cream
6 Tbsp of Franks Buffalo Sauce
4 Tbsp of Rice Vinegar.

I'm a fan of the sauce, but I'm kind of a fan of most food.  If I don't post up another recipe trying to still ace this sauce then here you go.

Hurricane Sandy rocked the East Coast

These pictures were taken on the south shore of Long Island.  West Islip, Babylon, Deer Park, Bay Shore, and I believe I threw one in there from the Gilgo Beach area.  The clean up in these areas are still going on.  This storm was the craziest storm I've ever been in....and I've been in some crazy thunderstorms before.

Recently, Ocean Parkway reopened.  Here's some of the damage we found going eastbound (eastbound side is closed).

I threw in a picture of my favorite beach house I've yet to come across.  I think it's the peace sign that instantly makes it a fav, followed by all the windows....and location!  From what we saw, no major damage was done to the houses.

Gym rat

So tomorrow will be my first day back in a gym.  I'm sooooo excited!  Not sure on my exact measurements everywhere on my body, but all I'm around a size 10-12....you know, 10s are too tight (if you are my mom) and 12s are too loose(especially if you are my boyfriend).  I mean, who likes going around with either muffin top or dumpy butt?  LOL.  So yeah, my local gym offers classes several times a day, every day during the week.  No excuses.  I'm going to go hard.  I have a trip down south in March.  Of course my ultimate goal is to be in pictures looking smoking hot.  :)  I'd like to see myself back in a 4-6.  I'm sure this is not the last you have heard of my gym talk.

Yummy shakes

Tonight after dinner, I made these delicious shakes for my family.  They ended up being around $1 each.  I got the ice cream on sale and made my own whipped cream.  Making your own whipped cream is so easy and it tastes way better imo.  I use about a cup of heavy whipping cream...whip it until it starts to peak.  Add about 4 Tbsp of powdered sugar.  Then add 1 Tbsp of vanilla.  Tonight I didn't have vanilla so I used peppermint extract.  I liked it, boyfriend didn't...go figure.

Milk is $4/gallon here.  I used about 6 cups since we like ours on the thin side.  Ice cream was on sale, 2gallons for $6.  I used 1/4 of a gallon.

I'm not quite sure on the breakdown of the cost for the whipped cream, I honestly don't look at it as an extra cost.

We had cookies and cream

Websites I let my kids use

Here's a list of websites that I allow my kids to use.....

http://coolmath.com/  This is for math, for those who couldn't tell LOL.  There are fun games that the kids enjoy playing once they are done doing math facts.

http://www.maps.com/games/caps.aspx  This is for Social Studies, States and Capitals

http://www.purposegames.com/game/46  Match the State and Capital.  This one is a little harder.

Those are their current favorite learning websites.  Of course they try to sneak in youtube, but their mom is there ready to bust them.

14 things to do with your man

One thing I see on Pinterest is 101 ways to love your man, or 25 at home date night ideas?  Really ladies?  I mean, it's good that you're looking for ways to respice up your relationship, but it's kind of sad that I have friends who have become that 'old married couple'.  Mike and I will never be that old married couple, mainly because we won't be married LOL.
In all seriousness, I take my relationship very seriously.  Can I be anymore serious?  LMAO.  So yeah, I already had one failed marriage, I'm not trying to go down that road again.  What's the divorce statistic?  Getting somewhat off topic by small details.  ....  So here's my list of 14 random things that you can do to get your mans attention.

1.  Wear a shirt that is semi low cut.  Nothing ridiculous...unless your kids aren't around or you are on a date and feel confident, then if so let the puppies come out.  Men like T&A.  Flirt a little, instead of finding your inner goddess, find your inner skank.  Lady on the streets, freak in the sheets girls.

2.  Scratch his back.  Sounds simple enough, that's because it is!  Even if it's while he is watching tv, reading, internetting, etc.  Scratch the back and ask how his day was.

3.  Make his favorite meal for him....even if you aren't a good cook.  He will appreciate the effort.

4.  Make him cookies, or another dessert that is only for him.  This can be a tricky one.  Luckily for me we have an upstairs mini college fridge that the kids don't have access to.

5.  Make out with him.  I'm not saying do it all the time, but do it at least once a day.  Either during sex or just randomly grab him and make out....of course when kids aren't around.   You don't want to be that awkward parents.

6.  Stroke his ego a little bit.  Let him know that he is your man and he is in charge of this house....even though we all know deep down that woman run this shit, just let him think he does.

7.  Once a week during sex, go out of your comfort zone a little.  Try something new that you know he's always wanted to do.

8.  Relax....this one is for you.  If you are uptight on making sure everything is perfect it won't be!  Have a glass of wine to help.

9.  If you have access to cash, pay for dinner next time you go out to eat.

10.  Go buy yourself some new bedroom clothes.  Heels, thigh highs, camisole, teddy, the options are endless.  I suggest getting something you are comfortable in so that way you actually feel comfortable.  There are all sort of different levels of skank along with different amounts $$.

11.  If you don't feel comfortable enough doing the above due to your body, hit the gym or do some other at home workouts.  Exercise is a great mood lifter, and I know he really likes seeing me sweaty.

12.  Sext him.  For those not knowing that means...it means send him a pic of your cleavage and type something like 'thinking of you, can't wait to see you tonight'.

13.  Pick out a movie for you guys to watch, something he will like though....Xmen, Rambo, Rad, I don't really know what each one of your guys are into, but find one that HE will love, even if you don't.

14.  Rub his head/feet when you guys are just hanging out chilling.  Don't wait for him to ask you...just do it.  Even if he doesn't ever do this for you.  You are his woman and you are suppose to take care of him

Um, look at this cheesy wall art LOL.  I needed an image for pinterest, and have no desire what so ever to put effort in making a fancy one.

Month of Pinterest rough draft

Hello all!  I am dedicating the last month of 2012 to trying new things.  Every day I will be doing at least one new thing off of Pinterest.  From a new recipe, to a new craft, to a new workout the limit is endless!!!!  Haha.  I have a schedule of things I'd like to do.  Other days will be left blank, mainly because I ran out of ideas and I need to go look at Pinterest.

Dear Ke$ha,

......Sigh.....as I sit here listening to Die Young on repeat, mainly because I like the beat and the way your voice box goes up and down, I can't help but get annoyed with your music video.  You my dear are a SKANK.  What is this video, a sex cult?  Where you are a going to hook up with a guy, or girl even though they showed up with someone else?  Whore!  Shame...I really liked this song.  I hope this super trashy sluttiness in your video doesn't ruin the song for me.  Meh, I've tried really hard to like you.  Thank god I grew up when people sang without a voice box because they couldn't sing any other way.

Pinterest inspired.

Check out what I made today......Pretty freaking awesome right?!  Glass container was $9.99, Christmas balls were 50% each package, the packages were originally $3.99-$5.99..I got 4 packs of balls.  hehe.

I'm not sure if I'm going to decorate it anymore than what it currently is.  I mean, if I place it on a doily I think that's all I really need to do.  I can add ribbon, but why chance it?

The good news is I plan on storing what goes in the glass container and switching it out every season.  I like the idea of getting another glass container but have it shaped more like a square.  It'll be for our kitchen table.  BRILLIANT!!

Ok, so I lied.....

I didn't make mini cheesecakes today.  LOL.  I made the mistake and decided to make Puppy Chow (or muddy buddies if you are into that kind of thing) and I had a bunch left over....which we finished tonight while watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  I did make cherry limeades though.  Boy oh boy, I love it when I have Sonic flashbacks.  I sure used to be a crazy one.  Haha.  Being in New York away from family and friends and having to build a life for myself sure has matured me.  No complaints.

Anyways, back on topic.  Cherry Limeades!  I like to drink out of mason jars....I'm not sure if it's because they remind me of Whiskey Tango or what, but they make me smile :)  Due to my instagram obsession I've been using my camera on my phone for a lot of my pics lately.  Tonight I did a craft, I'll post about it in a minute...I used my big fancy camera and what a difference.  I'll try to use big fancy again.  **mental note** Make a thread about instagram...include favorite users, pluses and minuses to it.  I got off topic, sorry..I do that a lot.  Anyways, cherry limeades....I used 1 frozen limeade thing, put it in the pitcher,  then i poured in some Sprite.  Stirred it around, being careful because it becomes bubbly.  Anyways, I slowly added the Sprite until it was full.  Then I added the full thing of cherries and then sliced up some limes so we could be fancy.  If you want exact measurements google someones recipe :)  I'm honestly hit or miss if I do exact measurements.  Its like life, sometimes I like to play it safe, and sometimes I like to live on the edge.  YOLO.

Blossom is getting divorced

http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2012/11/22/mayim-bialik-husband-to-divorce-after-9-years/?hpt=hp_inthenews  And here you have it folks, straight from CNN's blog.  Mayim Bialik, aka Blossom is getting divorced after 9 years of marriage.  She is one of those attachment parents.  Nothing against attachment parents, I'm a firm believer in not judging ones way of parenting...unless it's really wrong of course.  But she (or a rep) said the attachment parenting had nothing to do with the divorce.  Bullshit.  Guys don't want to sleep in the same bed as their baby/kid.  They want to sleep next to their wife/partner.  They want to sleep naked, get some in the middle of the night, they want to roll around and not worry about squishing a baby.  If your husband/partner tells you they are ok with it, they really aren't.  Maybe I'm also completely wrong.

25 days of Pinterest preview

You need to use a mason jar or another air tight container.  I got a set of 4 pt sized jars at Target.  This needs to sit for about 6 weeks until it's done.  From what I've read, pure vanilla has no expiration date which is awesome to know!  If you have tomato juice and pepper, I highly recommend making yourself a bloody mary because you really do deserve it :)

Tomorrow I'm going to make a household favorite, mini cheesecakes along with cherry limeades.

My family Christmas card pics :)

This year is definitely my favorite Christmas card I have ever made!  I wish I could see everyone's face when they open the envelope.

So we attempted dinner on the beach.....

Living in Long Island sure does have its perks....the city is just a train ride away, you can get in the car and drive any direction and find sand, amazing pizza and bagels.  Last Friday night, we used our 4x4 pass and drove on Democrat Point (it's the far western end of Fire Island).   I think this is my favorite thing about Long Island, the driving on the beach.  It's way less crowded there, you can fish if you wish, swim, bbq, bonfire, etc.

Well, the kids ended up playing around in the water while Mike attended to the grill.....the charcoal that comes presoaked, was in fact NOT lightable.  I was around seizing the opportunity to work on my photography of course.  I've been reading/watching tutorials left and right, and I wanted to put the knowledge I have to work.  Sure enough, I was pretty thrilled to see what I was able to do with some things.

We ended up only staying for about an hour.   We were never able to get the grill going and we were hungry.  So we went back home and BBQ'd in our driveway like the classy folk do hehe.  I had an amazing time.  I always find the beach (especially when it's not so packed) to be a very nice, calming place.  I find serenity everytime we go over the Robert Moses bridges.

Until next time xo
